Upcoming features: Computer Weekly

I am writing two features on data storage for Computer Weekly. The first is on containers and storage, the second is on tape.

For containers I am looking at:

  • What is unique about containers when it comes to storage?
  • What is CSI (container storage interface)
  • What is container-native storage?
  • How are storage vendors trying to make container storage easier?

For tape storage, I am looking for information on:

  • Tape storage capacities, throughputs, I/O characteristics
  • Key standards
  • Cost advantages (or disadvantages) of tape
  • Security features of tape
  • The type of data and workloads tape is suited to

I am looking for background material, and examples of businesses using container storage or tape, and data points. The deadlines are Thursday 2nd October, 1700hrs for containers and Thursday 9th October, 1700hrs for tape.

Please send any information, by email noting the deadlines above.
